RESEARCH RESULTS

The surveys for the Diversity in Healthcare: Sourcing Solutions for Better Outcomes Tomorrow are administered before and after the conference. It is designed to assess participants' baseline awareness and comfort levels with key themes related to diversity and healthcare disparities after the conference. By completing the survey, that data will help track your progress and the overall impact of the conference on improving participants’ understanding and approach to healthcare challenges.
 

Participants were sent a mandatory prerequisite work document before attending and then filled an anonymous Google form consisting of questions such as:

  • Simple demographic questions (age, gender, race, etc.)

  • Thoughts on themes that will be discussed during the conference

  • Rating their comfortability on the themes discussed in the conference

 

After the conference, participants were sent a follow up survey that recorded those same measures and reflection questions such as:

  1. What was your favorite part of the Conference (Speakers, Solutioning Phase of the Conference, Polling and Discussion of Key Concepts (Empathy),Other (Please Specify))?

  2. During the Discussion portion of the conference, how comfortable were you engaging and discussing with participants about key concepts about diversity in healthcare? (On a scale of 1-10)

  3. The course pre-work was designed in order to provide participants with the background knowledge in order to contribute in meaningful conversation. How well did you feel prepared about discussing the topics presented during the conference? (Scale 1-10)

  4. During the Curriculum portion of the conference (Polling and Discussion of Key Concepts)... How well were you able to engage with the questions being asked?

  5. Any other ideas for areas of improvement or any issues that you didn't like about the conference?

 

This data was used for future conferences to further improve.
